I am an amateur cook who never does anything halfway. Thus, when I took up canning in the summer of 2012 I jumped in with both feet and eventually caved to the pleas of my friends for me to start a food blog and share my recipes. After growing up cooking with my mom, I have always had a passion for good home cooking and sharing recipe and experiences is a natural extension of my love of food. After all, when I’m not cooking up a storm, reading, taking online classes, hiking, running, knitting, or geocaching (to name a few), I work as an on-call teacher in SD#78 and a researcher at the local museum. Learning new skills and sharing my knowledge are two of my favourite things, and I hope you enjoy a taste of my Cottage Fare!
